| Stan
Smith - Featured Presenter - As the founder and
President of Human Patterns, Stan Smith has been consulting
with organizations for over 30 years. Stan specializes
in the interface between metrics, software, and business
processes; creating and administering surveys and instruments
to help people and organizations increase their long term
viability. He is currently exploring ways to improve sustainable
leadership, structure, and processes. He has been a guest
lecturer for George Washington University of St. Louis,
the Institute of Government at UNC, Kenan Flagler Business
School of UNC, Southeastern Theological Seminary. NCSU
and other universities. |
| Chris
Boleman, PhD- Dr. Boleman’s responsibilities
as the state-level Extension Program Development Specialist
involve providing leadership to statewide strategic
planning, program development, evaluation, and accountability.
This position is responsible for coordinating the aggregation
of issue-based data from 254 counties that set programming
direction for Texas Cooperative Extension. In addition,
this position provides leadership for the coordination
of and training for annual program plans and enhancement
of program development activities. Dr. Boleman also
co-coordinated two major programmatic areas for Texas
Cooperative Extension. The first is a volunteer management
imitative that is co-coordinated with A. Burkham and
is designed to develop Extension faculty competencies
in the area of volunteer management and to adopt new
volunteer management practices associated with volunteer
involvement in local Extension programming efforts.
A curriculum entitled, Building Connections: Community
Leadership was developed for Extension faculty to develop
significant leadership education in local communities.
Dr. Boleman served as the primary coordinator and lead
author in this effort.

| Jeanne
Davis is the Regional Program and Development
Coordinator, Western Region for the Cooperative Extension
Service, College of Agriculture, University of Kentucky.
Davis is responsible in her region for key results of
UK Cooperative Extension’s “re-envisioning”
process which includes strengthening support for local
programming by improving linkages and broadening Extension’s
scope so that working relationships and partnerships
are strengthened. Jeanne assumed her current role on
July 1, 2003 after having served as Area Director for
the Purchase and Pennyrile Areas and previously serving
as County Extension Agent in Caldwell County.
Davis
received her B.S. degree in Home Economics Business
from New Mexico State University in 1975 and her M.S.
degree in Home Economics Education from Murray State
University in 1979 and also holds a vocational education
certification. Jeanne began her Extension career in
1975 with the University of Kentucky.

Judy
Groff has 33 years experience of working with
volunteers and organizations. Youth development, leadership
development, volunteer system management and advisory
leadership systems have been her research and educational
interest areas. Judy has an EdD in Adult and Community
College Education from North Carolina State University.
Dr.
Groff has been a certified Administrator of Human Patterns
since 1993. She has used the instrument with three groups
of interns in the Western Extension Leadership Development
program on four different occasions. She has also done
many individual feedback sessions.
Dr.
Groff is also certified in Communication Wheel, Crucial
Conversations, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Organizational
development, non-profit board development, and executive
coaching are her consulting interests. |
Dr.
Charlene Jacobs is the Central Region Program
Director Coordinator in Kentucky. She was a county extension
for Home Economics for 16 years and an Area Program
Director working with county extension agents for 17
years. Charlene has served on many training teams for
Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service including Teaching
Methods and Techniques, Marketing Extension, Writing
Reports for Accountability, Office Operations, Performance
Appraisal, SEAL , Program Planning Design Using the
Logic Model and other topics. She has been a member
of the Middle Managers Program Committee for Southern
Region PLN for many years and has presented training
session in the Southern Region on Marketing Cooperative
Extension Service, Program Accountability through Performance
Appraisal, and Basic Supervision Skills. She has shared
information on the effect of age on motivation of county
extension agents in Kentucky that included information
on Generation X at several regional and national meetings.

Martha
A. Nall, Ed.D. An Extension Professor in the
Department of Community and Leadership Development at
the University of Kentucky and a member of the Program
and Staff Development unit of the Cooperative Extension
Service, Martha Nall gives leadership to program development
and orientation and training programs for newly employed
County Extension Agents. She also works with leadership
development programs throughout Kentucky and has conducted
a variety of leadership training seminars for lay leaders
and professionals. As a member of the SEAL development
team since 2001, she contributed to the development
of modules for the 2003 SEAL conference.

Ralph
Prince is the State Advisory Leadership Coordinator
for the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture’s
Extension service. A former school teacher, Extension
Agent for 4H, and Extension Area Program Director, Prince
is responsible for developing materials, programs and
training to assist the volunteer advisory group network
across Kentucky’s 120 county extension network.
Accepting this current assignment after the “re-envisioning”
of Cooperative Extension, Prince spearheaded an effort
to train administrators and all extension across the
state with the first SEAL curriculum. Subsequent materials
and training have been developed to assist professionals
and volunteers to work collaboratively in identifying
and prioritizing program opportunities then designing
and implementing these programs in a manner conducive
to affecting clientele in life changing ways. |
